VISION STATEMENT
The vision of the Graham Park Middle School comprehensive school counseling program is that as students head to high school, our Lions will have learned, prepared, and achieved short and long-term goals to promote readiness for their future. GPMS students will have acquired the academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented skills needed for a flourishing and thriving future ahead. They appreciate cultural diversity and use their empathy to accept each other as one. When faced with obstacles and challenges, our students will utilize their problem-solving tools and resiliency to overcome adversity. Every Graham Park Lion will graduate high school on time and ultimately have access to pursue post-secondary opportunities needed to become successful members of our ever-changing, dynamic global community.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Graham Park comprehensive school counseling program, in alignment with the ASCA National Model, is to provide multi-domain, developmentally appropriate, data-driven, and equitable individual and small group counseling services, as well as innovative classroom instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students. Our program is dedicated to fostering academic growth, social-emotional wellness, and career-readiness through a supportive and inclusive environment where student voice, critical thinking, and problem solving are encouraged and valued. We serve as trusted partners in education - collaborating with students, families, and our community - to ensure the highest quality of school mental health and counseling services. In doing so, we remove barriers to learning and empower every student to reach their full academic, personal, and career potential while positively contributing to their community.
