Pink Space Theory is hosting a Summer Math Enrichment Program July 6-24




July 6 - July 24/ 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (EST), Mondays through Fridays

OUR ENVIRONMENT MATTERS - MAKING SENSE OF PERCENTS

This free workshop is intended to strengthen students’ understanding of ratios and proportions and make connections to number concepts and algebra as they develop their understanding of percents. All participants must register to attend this FREE virtual program.

What to Expect:

Students will

· connect percents to different representations of the same number using fractions and decimals.

· use a variety of models, including double number lines, bar models (tape diagrams), and equations to make sense of situations that involve percents.

Throughout the 3-week program, students have an opportunity to solve a myriad of practical applications all related to an issue that is important to them: protecting and saving our environment.

Target Audience:

This program is ideal for rising 6th graders and 7th graders who love math and enjoy a challenge.

Meet the Instructor:

Mr. Jason Brown has been teaching for the past 18 years. He is currently the Instructional Technology Coach at Graham Park Middle. Mr. Brown earned a Masters of Science in Elementary (4-8) Education with a concentration in Middle School Science.
