All the best

Welcome to Creative Writing!

Get ready to brush up on your writing skills, both for fun and for school assignments. You will learn how to generate ideas, plan, write drafts, conference, revise, edit and produce polished pieces. Some assignments will be silly and fun to help you build confidence and fluency; others will demand strong organization and developed ideas. No need to worry! I will help you through the process. I love teaching writing!
I grew up in Flint, Michigan, playing basketball all day, every day. My family relocated to Texas when I was a teen, where I continued to play ball. I graduated from the University of Texas in 1992 with a degree in English, a secondary teaching certificate, and a co-ed intramural basketball championship (look for my picture in the old gym).  At Kennedy High School in San Antonio I taught 9th and 10th grade English and coached basketball, softball, volleyball and track.  In Ohio I taught writing to college Freshmen while working on a Master's in Literature at Wright State University before moving to Hawaii.  As an Air Force officer's wife I have moved many times and lived in many states. My husband and I have 8 children, ages 22 to 5. The oldest is a Fighting Irish at Notre Dame and our second oldest is a Buffalo at Colorado Boulder. Two are in high school at Forest Park, a third at Colgan. Our youngest is a kindergartner. Pete and I have been married for 28 years, and we are thrilled to settle down here in Virginia. This is my second year at Graham Park.
